Amid a health crisis, Phil Collins brings the power -- and shares it, too.
As a journalist, I've attended many rock concerts as a reporter and arts editor -- and that's a fun and enviable gig to have, though it brings its challenges, like any form of work. Even as a civilian, it's hard to go to such an event purely for enjoyment -- probably because there is always something new to learn, and a new story to witness. Last night, I went with my husband and brother in-law to see Genesis at the TD Garden in Boston. It's a wonderful venue which, its corporate name-changes notwithstanding, enshrines a great part of the city's history, as seen in the banners declaring victories of the Bruins, including the great Bobby Orr. This concert brought its own kind of history -- a band long-known for its complex but accessible music, and lyrics telling eccentric and sometimes dark tales.
